
The basic information every premedical student should know regarding medical school, cost of tuition, general admission requirement, questions to ask when choosing a school you want to attend, what happens during and after medical school, etc.
Time:
Medical School:
1. Many countries have a 6 year MD program that accepts students after they complete high school.
2. If you have completed some college or pre-med pre-requisites or completed premed then you may be eligible for
a 4 year program.
Residency:
can range from 3 to 6 years depending on the speciality your choice. You are paid for residency.
Admission: depends high schools grades, English proficiency, Letters of recommendations, ability to pay a one time “seat reservation fee,” some schools require MCATS.
Cost of tuition: can range from $15,000 US to $40,000.
Financial Aid: If you are a US citizen or a permanent resident you are eligible for limited fedral and state loans. Additionally you can borrow from private lenders (Sallie Mae®, TERI Loans).

Student visa: depends on you country of residence. consult you embassy. cost of visa range from $40-150 US.
During Medical School:
6 year program:
years 1 & 2: premed courses
years 3 & 4: didactics, theories, text book medicine (classroom learning maybe some clinical experience)
years 5 & 6: Clinical clerkship (rotations, practical experience in specialties( internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, ob/gyn, family medicine, psychiatry…)
