A: COST OF ATTENDANCE (COA)
The Cost of Attendance ( COA ) is how much the school will cost you for one year. The UAG defined the amounts according to a standard definition by Congress.
The COA may vary depending on your lifestyle. Tuition and fees will remain fixed throughout your whole career. Restrictions may apply, and you must contact your Financial Aid Counselor for more information.
The COA is comprised of direct and indirect costs. Direct costs are all the monies you must pay to the school, such as tuition, special courses and fees.
Indirect cost will be the room and board, food, supplies, transportation, personal expenses, immigration fees, etc.
Your current consumer debt is not part of the COA, only educational-related items. Consider paying off your credit card (s), car payments, mortgage, weddings, etc. prior to entering school.
These items are not covered on your COA, you must plan in advance how you will be making the payments and or liquidating all ( or part) of your consumer debt before attending school. Do this to avoid any delays on payments and any damage to your credit score.
Check the COA below that applies to you and make your annual budget so that you are prepared for the entire academic year.
The amounts shown are the maximums allowed but UAG encourage you to borrow only what you really need.
If you have any questions, please contact your Financial Aid Counselor.
This cost of attendance applies to all students who entered
the UAG on or after August 2006

Q: How do students fund their education? What loan programs and scholarships are students eligible for?
A: The School of Medicine has been approved by the US Department of Education to participate in the US government-sponsored student loan program.
There is an alternative loan program which supplements these loans to the cost of attendance for creditworthy US borrowers. The University offers partial loan/scholarship schemes to eligible non-US students.
Q: How many students are enrolled in each class? What is the attrition rate for
matriculated students, i.e., how many typically dropout before finishing?
What are common reasons for dropping out?
A: Please contact school for more information.
Q: What is the length and structure of the entire curriculum?
A: The First Four Years
Undergraduate medical training includes study of the basic sciences, laboratory work, and intensive clinical instruction. This program differs substantially from many U.S. medical-school curricula in that actual clinical exposure begins immediately, rather than after basic-sciences instruction. At the successful conclusion of the first four years of medical education and training, the student receives the Medico Cirujano (Physician-Surgeon) Diploma.
Internship
The fifth year, or Internado, is spent in an undergraduate rotating internship, where the student gains further clinical experience and competence at a university hospital or affiliated institution.
The Professional Examination
The Examen Profesional (professional examination) may be taken anytime following the successful completion of the internship. This examination must be passed before an individual may receive his or her medical degree (see below: The Medical Degree).
Social Service
As the name implies, Social Service (Servicio Social) is a full one-year, mandatory, federally supported activity. All medical graduates in México participate for the benefit of the underserved population. These are done primarily in very small, economically disadvantaged towns devoid of health-care facilities.
The Medical Degree
Upon completion of the social service and upon successfully passing the Professional Examination, the UAG graduate physician is awarded his or her medical degree: the Título de Médico-Cirujano (Degree of Physician-Surgeon).
Q: What are the academic credentials of the faculty teaching basic science
courses? Where were they educated?
A: The UAG School of Medicine’s international prestige is derived from more than 65 years of constant effort to reach excellence through curricular innovations destined to improve the teaching-learning process. This is in addition to the acknowledgement presented to the University by the President of United States in 1991 in recognition of the outstanding education provided to its more than 8000 medical graduate residing in the U.S.
Q: Where do students do their clinical training?
A: 2007

Q: How do students perform on USMLE I and II? In recent years, what are the
1st time and total pass rates for students from this school?
A: Although applicants are accepted into the program on a competitive basis, the great majority of U.S. students at the UAG since 1971 have continued their medical training through Fifth Pathway.
Upon acceptance, the new Fifth Pathway student is enrolled in a year-long program of supervised clinical training in the United States, at the successful conclusion of which the student is given a certificate of completion. The University will honor this Fifth Pathway year as fulfillment of the internship requirement if the student has properly registered for Internado with the UAG.
