The University of Health Sciences Antigua (UHSA) is a privately endowed institution founded in 1982. The University is chartered by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. The Dowhill Campus on which the University is located, is about 12 miles from the nation’s capital of St. John’s and is situated on a 50 acres land within the Historical National Park area of the English Harbor.


The School of Medicine of the University was listed in 1983 with the World Health Organization (WHO) and this confers eligibility on the medical graduates of the University to take the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE) which are mandatory for all graduates of foreign medical schools or American universities for licensure to practice in the United States of America (USA).
