The NBME has expanded and enhanced its web-based assessment offerings to meet the evaluation needs of medical schools. Three of the new assessments (Adult Ambulatory Medicine, Adult/Pediatric Ambulatory Medicine and Medicine Sub-Internship) are currently in a pilot phase. At the completion of the pilot phase for each exam, the NBME will equate the two forms of each of these examinations and develop scaled scores, summary statistics, and norm data.
A select number of medical schools have been administering these exams in a pilot phase to help us meet these goals; however, the tests are now available to all schools.
The new web-based examinations, enhancements to existing web-based exams and pilot projects are:
- Adult Ambulatory and Adult\Pediatric Medicine Examination
- Web-Based Comprehensive Basic Science Examination (CBSE)
- Medicine Sub-Internship Examination
- Musculoskeletal Subject Examination
- Customized Assessment Services (CAS)
- NBME Self-Assessments
- Clinical Progress Tests
